Royals in the wedding check: These heirs marry the fastest
The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, now called Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was only a few months back. It’s not long ago that all tabloids have speculated daily about whether the two are even a couple. In the spring of 2019, the family will be perfect, because the first offspring is expected. Do you also get the feeling that the Royals get engaged, marry and have children faster than regular folk?
We have looked at ten royal houses and analyzed, who actually marries very quickly and become parents first. We have looked at the time frame between the official engagement and the wedding day, as well as between the wedding day and the birthday of the first child.
Our analysis comes to the conclusion that the heirs to the throne of the Belgian royal family marry by far the fastest after the engagement: Just 118 days lie between the official announcement of the engagement and the wedding day. Luckily, as an heir to the throne, you have a large team around you that plans the wedding ceremony within a very short time! The Belgians are followed by the Spanish, who spend an average of 156 days after the engagement until the “big day”. For the British, this period is 158 days, which puts them in third place.
The Dutch royals wait clearly longer: After a long engagement time, it takes them 377 days for the wedding bells to ring. In Monaco too, there is considerably more time for the wedding preparations, with an average of 366 days.
However, the heirs to the throne are not only expected to marry appropriately. They are also expected to give birth to the next royal generation. The Swedes are the quickest to fulfill their duties: After the wedding, the first child’s birthday arrives after 314 days. The British, however, wait almost triple the time! Almost 980 days elapse until the royal offspring is presented to the public. One thing is clear: Harry and Meghan will shift the average down significantly!
